Kia Launches Hwaseong EVO Facility with 100,000 Modular EV Target
Kia Motors has completed the first phase of its Hwaseong EVO Plant, a $2.7 billion investment aimed at producing 100,000 PV5 modular electric vehicles annually. The facility, spanning 300,000 square meters in Gyeonggi Province, underscores Kia's strategic pivot toward versatile commercial EVs.
A second phase, slated for 2027, will expand production capacity by 150,000 units for larger PBV models. The project includes a dedicated PBV Conversion Center to accelerate specialized vehicle development, reinforcing Kia's commitment to modular EV innovation.
